Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns dies aged 57

Big Brother personality Pete Burns has sadly passed away on Sunday, in a year that's been catastrophic in the loss of celebs.

In a statement on Twitter, his manager wrote: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest.

“All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star.

“He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with."

Burns, founded his band Dead or Alive in 1980 and began a frankly worrying obsession for changing his face.

The You Spin Me Round singer had a real strive for physical perfection, that only left him depressed and fighting for his life.

He was last on our screens when he appeared on Celebrity Botched Up Bodies, claiming: "The number of surgeries I've had is probably 300. I hope when I'm 80 and I get to heaven God doesn't recognise me."

Pete was scheduled to appear on Loose Women the day after his death, with singer Alesha Dixon replacing him last minute.

Celebrity icons and showbiz pals took to Twitter to pay their respects to the star.
