Does Taylor Swift really have the right to a private life after she's made her love life so public?

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has made millions of dollars from her hit pop records about ex-boyfriends and dodgy relationships. It's what she's really famous for.

So should the songstress be upset that her private life is so public?

Taylor has said in interviews that she's ashamed to make her private life public anymore, and heavily suggests that the press are to blame for some of her break-ups.

However, we can't help but think that good ol' Swifty could help herself just a little by backing up on the song-writing front.

While we're all for artistic flair, and raw emotion (isn't that what music is about?), Taylor does have a tendency to create a bit of a sh*t-storm when it comes to writing songs about her previous encounters.

Harry Styles, Conor Kennedy and Jake Gyllenhaal are all ex-boyfs who have reportedly had hit songs written about them. So where does Taylor draw the line between her public life and private life, when all she seems to do is churn out songs about her lovers?

This is question on some of the Daily Mail Online's readers' lips, after they set up an online poll to determine what the public opinion was.

"She writes songs based on her relationships and breakups so she's got no right to start beefing when people take the rise out of her for it!!," commented a user over the internet on the question.

"Yes they do have a right to a private life and some "celebrities" remain discreet. It is really entirely up to the celebrity, who has to retain the interest of a fickle public, especially since the celebrities of today are frequently young people with a talent for showing off," said another user.

It's a very difficult subject indeed, and as for our thoughts? Don't dish it out, if you can't take it, Taylor!
