Peter Andre Discusses Baby Names After Birth of Baby Boy - Are The Days of Crazy Celeb Names Over?

Peter Andre has kept fans guessing about what he and wife Emily MacDonagh will name their newborn child.

But the dad of four may have finally let slip about what the couple may be calling their new arrival, who was born last week.

The pair are yet to announce the name of their little one, but Peter has shared his name ideas in his new! magazine column.
Peter admitted: “We’re nowhere near choosing a name yet. We have so many we like, but every time we go to say it, it just doesn’t stick.
“I love names like Oscar and Arthur, but Emily’s not so keen.”

While Oscar and Arthur are lovely names, are they not a little too ordinary for stereotypical celebrity baby names?

Peter already has two children with ex-model and TV personality Katie Price, and it's safe to say that perhaps his past taste in baby names was a little more eccentric.

Naming their son, Junior Savva Andreas Andre, and daughter, Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre it's certainly clear that Peter may have calmed down in the 'celebrity names department'.

So is this the start of a new trend in the bizarre celebrity baby names craze? Are celebs becoming bored with the quirky, and instead are embracing the more mundane?

Let's take a look...

The eccentric:

Dream Renée Kardashian
Parents: Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna
Name Explained:
Word on the street is that Rob picked this name because it has always been his “dream” to have a child of his own. We guess it makes sense then…

River Rocket
Parents: Jamie and Jools Oliver
Name Explained: It's not yet known if the name 'means' anything in particular, but let's be honest here, this celebrity couple have never been fond of 'normal' names - River joins his siblings Daisy Boo, Petal Blossom, Poppy Honey and Buddy Bear.

Journey River
Parents: Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
Name Explained: No explanation from the stars as of yet but we're thinking they definitely wanted to be extra unique with their third bundle of joy.

North West
Parents: Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-West
Name Explained: It would appear that unsurprisingly, Kim and Kanye don’t have a passion for compass navigation after all. Kim's mum Kris Jenner revealed: "The way (Kim) explained it to me was that North means highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together and I thought that was really sweet.”

The mundane:

Christopher Cumberbatch
Parents: Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter
Name Explained: When Benedict and Sophie welcomed their son back in June, no one really knew what to expect name-wise from the couple. However, we were pleasantly surprised when it was revealed their bundle of joy was to be named after a character that Benedict played in a Tom Stoppard play. Aw.

James Der Beek and Kimberley Brook

Tabitha Broderick
Parents: Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick
Name Explained: Again, no explanation as to this name choice. However, Sarah and Matthew have another two children who are also named pretty normally, Marion and James.
