Selena Gomez took a 3-month break from her phone. Could you do the same?
In a generation where so much pressure is placed on social media, it must be difficult for celebrities, like Selena Gomez, to separate her off-screen and on-screen life. Although many stars seem to like the Instagram and Twitter life - Selena Gomez is not one of those.

Along with the stress from her busy career, not to mention her life constantly under the spotlight, Gomez felt the need to check into a treatment facility in August, after cancelling dates on her tour. She spoke about this in her heartfelt speech which shook the crowd at the American Music Awards, stating that she was "absolutely broken inside" but managed to put on a brave face.

She said, "I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram, I want to see what's inside".
Whilst in rehab, she put down her phone for three months, describing it as refreshing and calming, Now the star only checks her phone when it is completely necessary, claiming that if she finds that she has spare time to do whatever she wants, she opts for cooking or napping.
There does seem to be something quite rejuvenating about not being constantly connected to social media accounts, constantly looking at pictures of "Instagram models" or telling everybody what you're eating for dinner - because the world just cannot carry on without knowing that information.
Obviously, not checking your phone at all might seem a little extreme, but there are measures we can all take to just make our minds a little bit healthier. We all seem to think that we need to be on our phones all the time - just in case, but the majority of times, it can definitely wait. If Selena Gomez, the most followed person on Instagram, can leave her phone for three months, I can stop checking mine every two minutes.
