Why Khloe Kardashian's New Show Is Really Not Worth The Watch
However, even Kardashian super-fans were not impressed with 'KoKo's' new programme, slamming the weight-loss show with negative reviews.
Initially, there were concerns voiced by critics that the show's basic concept; that people should lose weight and transform themselves in order to impress someone else, was degrading and shallow. Yet now after its premiere, it seems the general consensus is exactly the same.
In the first episode named 'Muscle Cub & The Duff", Khloe met (ONCE in the entire show may we add) with Will and Stephanie - two candidates who sought 'revenge' on their ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend, respectively.
Will came to seek Khloe's 'help' after his ex-boyfriend broke up with him because he wasn't attracted to him anymore, and Stephanie wanted to shape up after becoming tired of being the 'ugly' friend.
Yet only one episode in, viewers were already voicing their concerns with the show.
my problem with #RevengeBody is that these jokers should be losing the weight for themselves, NOT for other people.— Natalie (@Nat_B2304) 13 January 2017
But the 'revenge body' concept of this show is Baaaad bad bad bad bad and makes me really upset— K 👼🏼 (@katiekjayy) 14 January 2017
So after the show has been shredded to ribbons by the media, and by the public, what does Spill The Tea Think? Well...
We have to agree with the critics and viewers, the show is not only poorly produced, the premise of losing weight to impress someone other than themselves is really bad.
This kind of show has already been done before! Anyone remember The Biggest Loser or Shedding for The Wedding? Yet the only difference between this and every single other weight-loss reality show is the Khloe factor, and even then, she's very rarely featured. However, when she is, viewers are reminded that Khloe Kardashian is a very big deal, with long OTT shots of her stepping onto the set, made up to the nines, ready to interview her protegees.
The premise of the show also doesn't sit well with us. Body confidence is something that almost everyone at some point in their lives will struggle with, and that kind of mental issue shouldn't be glamorised in a way such as this. If their problems are that bad, these people need therapists; not Khloe Kardashian and a hench personal trainer.
At the end of the show, both of Khloe's protegees truly do look amazing and have made brilliant progress with their 'revenge' bodies, yet something just seems missing, like they're not really that happy after all. Poor old Will still seems pretty caught up on his ex-boyfriend, even though he has a fabulous new body. A new body, but the same old mindset? We think so!
Regardless of what we, and everyone else, thinks of the show, we do wish Khloe all the success with her new venture.
