GRAMMY'S 2017: The best & worst of the red carpet

It's the biggest night in music when it comes to awards season so you can always expect to see the world's hottest artists rocking up to the Grammy's in the hope of making the 'hot' list in the magazines.

As ever, we saw some stunning looks which left our jaws on the floor but not everybody was up to scratch with some real ugly fashion moments that should never have made it past the hotel room.

BEST

JENNIFER LOPEZ

It's the dress that everyone is talking about for the RIGHT reasons. We're used to seeing J Lo show off her envious body and turn up the sex appeal to it's highest but the plaudits she's received for this look go to show you don't have to bare all flesh to get a reaction.

This lavender Ralph & Russo gown was just the right mix between prom gown and edgy with a touch of sex appeal through the keyhole cutout in the bust area which helped bring that snippet of sex appeal that we expect from the On The Floor beauty.

The tulle neckline could've been a complete misfire but it's quite possibly the difference between a stand out look and a nice dress here, providing the gown with that wow factor. She looks STUNNING.

DEMI LOVATO

Kim Kardashian, is that you? From the chainmail dress to the bronzed skin to the extensions, we must say Demi is sporting a certain amount of Kim K here but we'd be lying to say that she doesn't look the best we've ever seen her.

As one of her most famous hits says, "what's wrong with being confident?" and in this Julian McDonald dress (which looks every bit like something from the Balmain collection), she exudes complete confidence, baring all flesh in a very daring dress which does wonders for her figure.

She also rocked the stage in a medley of hits dedicated to the Bee Gees so despite not picking up a Grammy, she had a very good night and a stellar night in the fashion stakes.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD

We're fast approaching Valentines Day and Carrie Underwood is the lady in red that we are absolutely head over heels in love with.

The American country mega star has had some major fails on the red carpet in the past and this embellished Elie Madi dress isn't a safe move either with an unusual neckline and slit which could have tipped this into feeling like a robe or a Chinese geisha.

But we think it's just right on someone as naturally beautiful as Carrie who simply spells glamour when she dons something in such a beautiful colour with all the glitzy embellishments that it takes to really push the dress into a winner.

RIHANNA

While it seems that the theme of looking sexy on the night was a keyhole cutout, Rihanna took it to a completely different level but as usual, she absolutely slayed.

It was all about the midriff for Riri who took risks with this Armani Privé outfit but where better than the Grammy's to really test the limits. Orange is a difficult colour to pull off but Rihanna stunned in this citrus bralet which was matched with an unusual black skirt which gave the outfit the drama that it needed.

We loved that she showed off her tattoo aswell with the shape of her bralet during immediate attention to it.

NICK JONAS

Our best dressed male last night definitely had to be the hunky Nick Jonas and it's all down to that jacket.

The stud-heavy jacket designed by Balmain was a real wow piece of the night on a red carpet that is generally dominated by the females, but we sure know that we want this outfit which mixes high-fashion with a real edge. It wouldn't look out of place on Kanye.

All black everything for him was a real good look and the suede Chelsea boots on the red carpet just topped it off.

WORST

JOY VILLA

Just no.

ROSE MCGOWAN

Always one to push the boundaries on the red carpet, Rose McGowan has turned heads many a time. Who could forget the mesh mini dress from the 1998 VMAs? This look wasn't quite as bad but at least the VMAs look will go down in history while this one is just simply a horror.

The outfit itself was a definite misfire, this bandage top didn't come across as particularly dangerous or sexy compared to many looks on the red carpet so it instead just came across a bit messy. As for the hair, we're not sure golden flakes is a look that's going to catch on any time soon.

It's almost like Rose McGowan wanted to look like a walking Snapchat filter with the golden hair but after 10 seconds of looking at this one, we definitely wanted it to vanish.

HALSEY

The Grammy's might be one hell of a long night of awards but we're not sure it was completely necessary for Halsey to rock up in her most expensive pair of pyjamas.

The sapphire blue ensemble was clearly designed to shock as she looked as if she was a gust of wind away from a wardrobe malfunction but it's a shame that the piece just looked so ill-fitting, from the high waisted trousers down to the length they hit the floor.

Edgy is Halsey's brand so we were expecting to see her push the boundaries but this won't be appearing on any best dressed lists.

CEE-LO GREEN

We feel this picture of Cee-Lo Green speaks a thousand words, much more than we could ever say. It's bonkers, it's baffling, it's scary, it's unflattering... but it's definitely got people talking.

God knows we haven't thought about Cee-Lo since 'Forget You' was all over the radio in 2011 but this is an image that we can't get out of our head for all of the wrong reasons. Head to toe in gold, it was certainly a show stopping look but it's certainly not going to inspire any future fashion looks.

Looking like a creature we'd expect to pop up in an episode of Doctor Who, Cee-Lo definitely won the award for weirdest look of the night hands down but we'd be happy to transform this look to a whole new planet.

GIRL CRUSH

Who, you ask? Well, we have no idea who 'Girl Crush' is either but we're guessing that's why she wore this monstrosity. All publicity is better than no publicity, eh?

We're all for creativity, we've seen drag queens of RuPaul's Drag Race make dresses out of candy and wallpaper before but we're not sure that rocking up to the red carpet looking like you've rolled out of a kids play area in their ball pit is really the most flattering look.

As if the dress isn't tacky enough, to team it up with a simple pink bra cheapened the look even further if that was at all possible. It seems a shame to give this girl the publicity she craves but when it's as garish as this, it's really hard to ignore for all the wrong reasons.
