Another reality star 'sells her soul' to TOWIE

We were left feeling gutted for TOWIE's Jamie Reed this week, after he broke up with girlfriend of four years Amber Turner- as she 'sells her soul' for the chance of five seconds of fame.

The 23-year-old blonde bombshell was rumoured to cheat on Jamie whilst holidaying in Tenerife, kissing fellow cast mate Dan Edgar in his hotel room- before a string of further rumours came out she'd been shacking up with him at his home after returning from the sunny retreat.

She's now ditched Jamie- the supposed "love of her life", and is now dating Dan, and it's pretty apparent Amber is under the scrutinising spotlight from other TOWIE co-stars. Not exactly the best start to a show...or is it?

If we look back to other reality television shows, we can see the likes of TOWIE and Made in Chelsea massively normalising cheating: but why? We can't believe that cast members would allow production to "add a bit of glitter", by twisting the storyline or requesting they sleep on someone behind their other halves back for the sake of some viewers.

It seems that these people decide to betray their loved ones all by themselves: is it for attention? Is it because they want to be single and flirt around after arriving on a new show- I mean more rumoured romances equals more air time right?

Take Spencer Matthews, for example, he's had more notches on his bedpost than we've had hot meals, but he still somehow managed to keep up a reputation for being somewhat a "likeable villain", despite the numerous hearts he nutritiously and brutally broke over the years.

Either way, people like Amber will only regret their mistakes: is a casual fling with Dan (one of which is solely based on lies) worth sacrificing what seemed a happy and long relationship with Jamie? Of course its not.

Amber has been whisked away into the world of cheap sponsored tanning advertisements and tacky photo shoots- but when her five minutes of fame is up she'll be left feeling nothing but miserable and alone. TOWIE might seem like everything to stars like Amber right now, but once they get older and the spotlight becomes a little more faint, that's when the real 'reality' will truly settle in.

Will anyone know who Amber Turner is in five years time? Most probably not. Will she remember losing the possible love of her life for a shot at C list fame? Our bets are on yes...
