We don't know how to feel about Drake's 'Brit rap'
Drake dropped his new playlist 'More Life' (we say playlist because he's opted to call it that rather than album) and on the whole it is great. It has got great songs and shows incredible artistry but a switch up in sound has left people a little bit conflicted.
It appears that the rapper has been heavily influenced by British grime scene. Skepta. Giggs, Jorja Smith and Sampha even feature on the album. Perhaps it is a celebration to British talent but it has left people a little bit confused, especially Americans.
In the playlist Drake uses London slang such as 'ting' 'gyal' and 'wasteman' making people wonder if deep down he wants to be a London roadman.

Most people have had mixed reviews about the album, with many feeling a little bit weird about Drake using London slang words. Others believed Drake deserved recognition for being British talent to the forefront of the music scene. When drake says "ting" and tries to pronounce words with a London accent 😂😫— RJW (@RJW96_) 19 March 2017

Obviously, liking his album is subjective, depending on personal music taste. Personally, I think his album does have a few good hits on it and I'm all for trying a new sound but maybe pushing for a British accent is a bit far..@Drake being knighted by the Queen for services to the British Music Industry #morelife pic.twitter.com/i0o9CZyGcU— Mark Ronson (@MarkRonson) 19 March 2017
